Whitney is 11 days old today. Tonight we have moved her up to her nursery and are attempting to let her sleep in her own crib. After the c-section, we slept down on the first floor with Whitney in the bassinet next to the bed in one of our spare rooms. I was restricted from climbing stairs, but now am feeling back to my normal self and so excited to sleep in my own bed too.
I have to admit I am a bit anxious to not have Whitney sleeping in the same room as Aaron and I. I have grown accustom to hearing her every breath, movement, etc. I have the baby monitor on the highest volume and all doors are open between our rooms. If you haven't been to our house, our bedroom is literally maybe 20 feet from her room, so even if we didn't have a monitor we would be able to hear her. I guess I am officially an anxious mommy! As Whitney and I prepared for bedtime, I really enjoyed nursing her in the rocker in her room. We have used her changing table and even pulled out a couple books to read. I had to start with a Clifford the Big Red Dog book. Now she is swaddled and laying the crib. It is crazy to see how tiny she is in comparison to the crib. She is such a cutie!
Aaron and I have been so lucky to have such a wonderful healthy and happy baby! We just cannot get enough of Whitney. She is such a joy to have in our lives. We cannot imagine life without her. Cross your fingers for us that we have a good night of sleeping upstairs!
