Whitney did a great job in her car seat. I was even able to snap a photo of her smiling. What a little heart breaker we have on our hands. We just can't get enough. Aaron did a great job driving home too. It was nothing like the movies where the new dads drive 5 miles per hour. Aaron was a great chauffeur for Whitney and me.
When we got home we were greeted by my parents, sister, grandparents, and uncle. I will have to admit it was a bit overwhelming. My advice to anyone else in the future is to come home to a quiet, empty home, then prepare for the guests. I was really glad to have all of my family present, but the stress of feeding Whitney definitely interfered with our socializing time. My Grandma Ward (Whitney's Great Grandma) had a chance to hold and love on her a bit, which I know she really enjoyed. Then, it was off to feeding and figuring out where we had put everything from the showers.
Later that evening, we had a slight plumbing issue on our first floor bathroom. Unfortunately, our toilet decided to no longer work. This was bad news bears, since I was pretty much restricted from climbing any stairs. Nonetheless, we dealt with it for one night. Sorry Dad for the mess we left you. The very next day though my Dad came over and installed a new toilet. Oh how fun it will be to tell this story over the years. I can see it coming. All in all, we are so happy to be home with our baby girl!
