Happy Valentine's Day!

This morning we woke up…success!  Just kidding, it was Valentine’s Day of course!  Well, we woke up and the clouds were hanging a bit low on the mountains around us so we decided to have a lazy day.  I surprised Aaron with a Happy Valentine's Day card and chocolates.  We went to the Vudu Café for brunch, which was the cutest little café nestled on the busy streets of Queenstown.  I had some great French toast and Aaron had blueberry and raspberry pancakes.  It was so awesome.
After breakfast we strolled through the shops downtown and then went back to the hotel for a nap.  We spent a few hours getting in some quality Phase 10 and New Zealand wine and beer at the hotel, before we decided to head out for some tapas at the Eichardt’s Private Hotel.

On our way out for tapas we saw a Happy Valentine's Day special at the ice bar, so we had to go in.  You know my hubby, Mr. Saver.  We payed half price and ventured into the negative temperatures for some vodka cocktails.  It was a pretty cool (literally) place, so we spent only 30 minutes or so.  It was pretty impressive to see all of the ice sculptures.  The drinks were pretty delicious too.

After our detour we made our way to the Eichardt Hotel.  We tried “white bait” as one of our tapas.  White bait is a New Zealand specialty, which is surprisingly good. I grabbed a pic in case any of you do not know what this is.

Later, we moseyed around for some more drinks.  Finally, we landed on an AWESOME Thai restaurant for dinner. I had the most amazing noodle curry dish, while Aaron had his staple of chicken fried rice.  It was a great ending, to a great day!  I love ya, Aaron.  I am so lucky to have you in my life.
