Today we climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge and it was AMAZING! We geared up in our wind suits and explored the history of the bridge and captured several spectacular views of Sydney. The climb was a great experience.
After the climb we traveled to the Rocks which has several shops and restaurants. We had lunch at the Playfair café. While we were eating lunch, two rainbow lorikeet’s flew down to our table. They literally were right next to us. The birds had the most brilliant colored feathers that we had ever seen. According to a local, these birds are very common in Sydney. It was pretty surreal. Our blue jays and cardinals really have nothing on these birds.
We snagged a beer at a Belgium pub along Harrington street. Aaron had the most riduclous looking beer. Well, the glass was ridiculous at least. Aaron really thought the beer was great!
Later that night we dressed up for a drink at the Opera House bar to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, the sky turned overcast, so we ended up just enjoying some drinks and snapping some photos. The Australian SAG awards were being held at the Opera House, while we were there. It was interesting to see the stars roll up. Unfortunately, I didn’t know any of the Australian stars.
It was a wonderful second day. We are looking forward to seeing the Blue Mountains tomorrow!
