K-State Cotton Bowl 2012
This past weekend we went to Dallas, Texas to watch the K-State Wildcats take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in the 2012 Cotton Bowl. This was my first college bowl game, which made the weekend even more exciting. Aaron and I flew out of KC to Dallas, while Marcy and Tony med the trek from Meade in their minivan. They brought another couple (Tony and Leann) which was fun. The weather was spectacular in Dallas and we had a wonderful time tailgating out of the minivan. As I put it that day, we put in more than a full day of work in the stadium parking lot.
The game was held at the Dallas Cowboys new stadium which was unbelievable. It was definitely a great stadium to watch a bowl game. The K-State Wildcats unfortunately did not fair so well in the game and lost to the Razorbacks 29-16. I think I have had enough "woo pig sui" for a lifetime. I will stick to the wildcat cheers! Go Cats!
As a fun side note, Aaron and I had a run in with a quasi famous actor on Saturday. We decided to go to the Potbelly (sub sandwiches) place in Uptown. At the restaurant I kept staring at a guy behind me in line. Aaron was like Emily you have to stop. I kept saying Aaron I think I know that guy. Well, thanks to Desperate Housewives I did. Sitting one booth away from me was Jesse Metcalfe, the "hot" gardener flame of Eva Longoria (Gabby) on the show. It was pretty cool to be that close to him. He was definitely gorgeous, but too short for me. It is funny how the TV can make everyone look tall. He was probably 5'8/9.
Now back to work tomorrow! At least a new season of "Shameless" is starting tonight on Showtime. Love it!
