After some amazing adventures, we said good-bye to our beloved (well not so loved) 1999 Mercury Sable. For those of you who don't recall this car, this was my college partner in crime, since my senior year, when my Altima croaked. My Mom and Dad were very generous to gift me the Sable to get me through, and boy did it. The Sable was 13 years old and had seen a few scratches, dings, you know the drill. The occassional, windshield wipers going off without any cause, wheel bearings noise, just all the fun you could imagine. However, with Baby P on the way, this pregnant Mama-To-Be said, we need a new car. Fortunately, the sable went to my cousin Liz. She will get such great use out of the car and was willing to do a little work to get it into order.
So, now the Penningtons have officially gone hybrid, and we LOVE IT!. We bought a 2012 Hybrid Camry XLE. We love getting over 40 miles per gallon. The car is so quiet and my number crunching husband loves that he is saving, saving, saving. Next time you pass by the Pennington house in Prairie Village, you will see the Pilot has made its way to the driveway, and the Camry has taken over the garage. We have officially grown up and now no longer have our high school and college cars. Gosh, its amazing what 30 years has to offer. We are so blessed.

Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary - Betty & Mike Hunt!
Aaron and I have been married for 5 plus years and loving every minute of it. I cannot even begin to imagine what we will be like after 60 years. Hold on tight!
This weekend we celebrated Aaron's Grandparents (Maternal) Mike and Betty Hunt's 60th Wedding Anniversary. It was such a wonderful time to get together with the family and reflect upon all that has transpired during their wedded bliss. I really enjoyed reminiscing about all of their triumphs and challenges. I was so privileged to compile years of photos for the Hunt family into an album. It gave me such great insight into countless relatives and moments that I was not able to share with this family. I truly loved flipping through the years to see all of the wonderful moments. Congratulations, Grandma and Grandpa! You are one amazing couple!

From Great Grandpa with Love!
My Grandfather, Billie Joe Ward, gave us the most spectacular baby gift ever! He hand crafted a rocking chair for Baby Pennington. This is such a treasure that we cannot wait to share with our little munchkin! I know that many hours of joy and laughter will be had in this very rocking chair. Thanks, Grandpa! We love you to the moon and back!

We're Expecting!
Aaron and I are so excited to announce that we are officially expecting! We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Baby Pennington into this world. I think I said at the beginning of 2012 that this was going to be such an amazing year, and it has definitely lived up to our predictions. We have been so blessed with the ability to travel the world, celebrate our 30th birthdays, and now we get to rejoice in the creation of a new life.
Thank you to all of those who have prayed and supported us over the last couple of years. We are so lucky to have you in our lives and cannot wait to share our new addition. Baby Pennington is set to arrive the end of January 2013. So hold on tight and enjoy the ride. We are so EXCITED!!!

All Aboard...Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Every 5 years, the Roy Pennington Family (Aaron's Great Grandfather) and descendants, plan an adventure somewhere in the United States. My first opportunity to travel with the Penningtons for this celebration was back in 2007, when we ventured to the Smoky Mountains. This year we headed for the mountains again; however, we chose the Rocky Mountains, and ventured to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The summer of 2012 was a record breaking heat wave, so a week in the mountains was something we were absolutely longing for.
We spent 5 days (July 14 - 18) out in Colorado in a condo with Aaron's parents and Sister and her family. We had a great time relaxing and just taking in the scenery. We had a great showing of all of Aaron's immediate cousins and family. It was so nice to catch up with everyone. Every night a different family hosted dinner, so we had a great chance to socialize.
I was in my 10th week of pregnancy, so as you can imagine, I was pretty much a royal bum the entire time. I slept, ate, and slept some more. It was AWESOME! I only got a little mountain sickness on the way home.
All in all, we had a wonderful time in Colorado. Gosh how I love the mountains in the summer.

All-Star Runner
This weekend Aaron ran in the All-Star 5K run in downtown KC. He did a great job as I cheered him on! There were over 8000 participants in the All-Star run which was a new record. Fortunately, the weather cooled off from the sultry 100s down to the 80s for the run. The race started in front of the Sprint Center and ended by the Power & Light District. Downtown was very festive with all of the All-Star parfanalia.
After the run Aaron had to go to Corner Cafe to refuel. As long as Aaron gets his fix of biscuits and gravy, he is a happy camper!

Congratulations, Chad and Kristen Skates!
This past weekend, Aaron and I ventured to Tell City, Indiana. Right on the Ohio River and border to Kentucky, we went to see my cousin, Kristen marry Chad Skates. We had a great time celebrating this great day! However, I was not ready to share the pregnancy news, seeing I was only 8 weeks along. Since I have been known to cut back and have fun at weddings and get togethers, suspicions were rising as to why I was not drinking. It will be so exciting to tell everyone in a few more weeks!
